Do I need experience to join Shifted Athletics?
Not at all. Shifted Athletics welcomes athletes of every level — from complete beginners to competitive CrossFitters. Our coaches scale every workout to meet you where you are, so your first class won't feel overwhelming. If you've never touched a barbell, we've got you covered.
What memberships do you offer?
We offer Unlimited, 12x per Month, Youth, and Teen memberships. Find the plan that fits your needs and schedule.
What's the difference between the 12x/month and Unlimited memberships?
The 12x/Month membership ($145/mo) gives you access to 12 group classes per month — great if your schedule varies or you cross-train elsewhere. The Unlimited membership ($175/mo) gives you unrestricted access to all group classes, so you can train as often as you want. Most committed members go Unlimited.
Is there open gym time available?
Yes, Open Gym sessions are available for members to train independently. Check the schedule for current times.
What is Hyrox, and do I need to be a CrossFit member to participate?
Hyrox is a global fitness racing competition that combines running and functional workout stations. Think of it as a structured race format that's approachable for everyday athletes. We're a Hyrox affiliate, so we incorporate Hyrox-specific training into our programming. You don't need a CrossFit background — if you enjoy functional fitness and want a race-day goal to train toward, Hyrox is a great fit.
How do I book my first free class?
Click 'Book Free Trial' on our website and fill out the form. A team member will reach out to schedule your session.
Can I drop in for a class if I’m visiting Palm Desert?
Yes—visitors are welcome for drop-in CrossFit classes or open gym. Book your spot online before arriving.
Do you offer classes for kids and teens?
Yes! We offer Youth classes for kids ages 6–11 and Teen classes for ages 12 and up. Youth Unlimited is $100/month, and Teen Unlimited is $160/month. It's a great way to get the whole family moving — we've always been a family-friendly gym.
What type of programming do you use?
We use Invictus programming for our CrossFit classes, providing well-rounded, effective training that fits all abilities.
